Scope and contact
Data accessed and its purpose
- Selected sources: The contents, names, paths, sizes, modification times and hashes of local files and folders you select are processed for backup.
- Google Drive data: Folder and file listings, IDs, names, sizes, timestamps, available content hashes and deletion status are read to select destinations, compare files, upload and restore backups. Requested file contents are downloaded during restoration. A Google account identifier (permissionId) is used to match the account when reconnecting.
- Authorization: OAuth client settings, access/refresh tokens and resumable-upload sessions maintain the connection. DriveCopy does not receive your Google password; you sign in on Google's page.
- Local records: Jobs, source/destination mappings, file history, error descriptions and preferences are stored on your computer.
Why Google Drive access is requested
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive. This broad scope permits viewing and managing Drive files; it is not technically limited to your selected folder. DriveCopy uses it to select existing destination folders, compare and update files, list and restore backups, and apply the deletion/retention rules you choose. File operations follow the jobs and restore actions you select in the application. Enabled deletion rules and ZIP retention may delete destination files. Authorizing the application does not give Ekmel Kütükcü access to browse your files.Where data goes
Optional email reports: When enabled, job names, run times, results, file counts and log descriptions are sent through your chosen SMTP server to your chosen recipients. Descriptions may include file/folder names, paths and error details. Backup file contents are not attached to reports. Consider this disclosure before choosing recipients and an SMTP service.
Limited use of Google data
Retention and security
Jobs, mappings and connection records may remain until you remove them or clear local application data. Automatic log cleanup defaults to 30 days; you can change the period or disable cleanup. A completed temporary ZIP is removed after verified upload; interrupted operations may retain temporary files or sessions for continuation. Destination backups remain according to your deletion/retention rules and the provider's trash policy.
Revoking access and deleting data
- To stop transfers, stop the job and disable its scheduling.
- Remove DriveCopy access from Google Account → Third-party connections. This prevents future access; it does not automatically delete existing backups.
- Delete cloud backups through the provider and disk/FTP backups from the corresponding destination. Permanent removal may also require emptying the provider's trash.
- Use the application's log cleanup feature to remove logs. To remove all local settings and account data, fully exit the application first. After preserving needed backups, contact support for help clearing
%LOCALAPPDATA%\DriveCopyin your Windows profile. This also removes jobs, accounts and file mappings. - For information you sent to Ekmel Kütükcü support, request access, correction or deletion through the contact below. Requests are assessed according to their scope and applicable legal obligations.
